Rent- 18/9/15- Rent

18/9/15- Rent
In the lesson we were then put into pairs and told to devise a movement pieces that followed on from our La Vie Boheme dance from the previous lesson. Me and Josh where put into a pair and we started by looking at different moves relying on each other like pushes and pulls. We incorporate these into are movements as are first movement was holding each others wrists and leaning back. We improvised and experimented with different movements and came up with a number of elements we liked, like a lift that we incorporated into our final piece. I suggested we added a lift to change up the levels and later on we even added a set of movements using only our arms while sat on chairs.

Overall, we created a fun and lively set of movements that fitted well with the rebellious feel of La Vie Boheme (our stimulus) and that fitted with the dance the whole class devised in the previous lesson. It was fast and energetic and we even managed to make it fit perfectly with the timing of the music. To improve next lesson though we need to work on refining and polishing our movements, perhaps making them more dynamic. Also, we need to work on use of space as we used a lot of movement around the performance space which may be a problem when we come to perform it with all the other groups movement pieces going on at the same time.
