In this lesson we looked at the next group part of act two. The continuation of Happy New Year but in this half of the song Benny/Betty arrives and ruins the good mood that was there before. The relationship between Roger and Mimi is also compromised as Benny/Betty informs Roger that he and Mimi also have something going on. I decided I would make Roger upset and angry at this and that he should shout a few of the lines e.g. 'I am not her boyfriend, I don't care what she does!!'. I think that showing Roger getting angry shows the fact he actually does care and is both jealous and protective of Mimi as despite the fact he tries not to show emotion deep down he loves her. I decided I would get up in Benny/Betty's face and shout on this line, to show Rogers building anger.
We learned the song and did some very simple blocking but didn't have time to block the whole thing so will have to focus on Happy New Year B again in another lesson.
