15/10/15- Rent/ Will I
In this lesson we focused on two of the important main ensemble songs of Act 1, Will I and Rent. Rent we had been working on the movement for in our dance lesson but now we focused on the singing. I sing quite a lot of this song solo but I had already learned it through listening to it in many dance lessons so it was easy to work on. We added in the other singers that are the rest of the cast and then ran it with both the singing and movement elements. Will I was a slightly harder song to learn as it is quite a technical song that uses in around singing. With different groups singing different parts of the song at different times it for some, including myself found it difficult to learn but after help from Kim and hearing it with the piano it became easier. We decided that during learning and practicing the song that we should sing in 4 different groups. I was in the forth group and we also as a group decided that as we reach toward the end of the song only one person from each group sings, leaving me singing at the end for the final note.
